Grocery List

Yes, I am very OCD organized. So, I got tired of rewriting my list every time I went to do our "big" grocery shopping. This new list is specifically for that time, which is about once a month. I haven't gotten to the "every 2 weeks" point yet. We do still need to go out for things like bread, milk, and fruits, but for the most part I can get away with everything else once a month.   This did take several months to complete. I needed to make sure I had EVERYTHING that we buy, maybe not monthly, but everything that we could possibly need to go to the store for at some point. I also wanted things listed together by aisle. I pratically had this memorized, and then the store decided to rearrange every aisle!! Grrr.... But, after several months of going to the store and writing the aisle number next to what we were buying (yes, I'm nuts), I was able to put this together. My inner organizing, crazy person was very satisfied with the outcome!!!

Monday, Monday...

Part of me likes Mondays. It's the grown-up side. I like knowing it's time to start over and clean up from the weekend. The other part whines and moans and wants me to stay in bed and pretend it's Saturday again. Guess which part that is? But, the grown-up side almost always wins.

So, for the past 2 weeks, I've been working on our calendar and morning board and a mini office lapbooks. Both of these ideas started by reading this and this from Jolanthe's blog, homeschoolcreations. I am now in love with this blog! She is wonderful and her ideas and endless. I can't get enough! I even let her talk me into buy a laminator, especially since it has a $20 mail-in rebate until 7/31! Woo Hoo!! Through her I found Carisa at 1+1+1. She also had her calendar and morning board up with tons of printables. When I'm all finished I will try, "try" being the key word, to post pictures. I am in home school heaven with these 2 ladies and their blogs!

On the home front, I've been praying a lot about quitting my job. I only work a couple of nights a week, but it's a couple nights too many. I do not like not being home to make dinner every night and tuck the girls into bed. With hubby's rotating schedule, we don't get to see much of each other. Please pray with me that the Lord will guide me on this. I've also been rereading Proverbs 31 and Titus 2. I want to remind myself what God has called me to be as a woman, a wife, and a mother. I also want to make sure we raise our girls in the way God has ordained. He has asked us to be good stewards over them. That's exactly what I plan to do. I recently purchased a couple of books for the girls that I can't wait to get. They are God's Wisdom for Little Girls: Virtues & Fun from Proverbs 31, A Little Girl After God's Own Heart: Learning God's Ways in My Early Days, and I'd Be Your Princess: A Royal Tale of Godly Character. I think next on the list will be His Little Princess: Treasured Letters from Your King, The True Princess, and The Princess & The Kiss: A Story of God's Gift of Purity. For those of you with little knights, a lot of these books also come in the little boy version. I think they will be a fun way to teach those valuable lessons to our children.
